Founded in 1931 as a one-room hospital serving workers from the Hoover Dam, UMC has grown alongside Southern Nevada throughout the decades, building upon its strong foundation to become the state’s most sophisticated hospital. UMC remains uniquely positioned as a nonprofit public hospital providing the state’s highest level of care for patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
